Looking north towards the new Essex Street Bridge over Route 17, Route 17 southbound traffic (oncoming) is still traveling on the temporary diversionary road around the bridge work area. Use of the Route 17 northbound temporary diversionary road has ended and northbound traffic has been returned to its original alignment under the bridge.

Crews install stay-in-place forms for the bridge deck on top of the new bridge girders. Shear studs, that resemble large nails, are welded to the top flanges of the new steel girders. |
