Division of TaxationThe New Jersey Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services (DORES) has issued official notices to certain taxpayers regarding an important update to ACH (Automated Clearing House) banking information used for tax and employer payments. DORES has mailed letters to affected taxpayers that include the new banking details and instructions for updating payment systems or coordinating with financial institutions. This letter is legitimate and requires action if you submit ACH credit payments.
For more guidance and updates, visit NJ DORES ACH Credit Information.
This update is the result of the State transitioning its ACH banking services from Citibank to Wells Fargo. As of May 27, 2026, taxpayers who submit ACH credit payments are required to use new banking information, including updated routing and account numbers.
Taxpayers who continue using outdated banking details risk having their payments rejected or delayed. Any failed payments after June 30, 2026, may be subject to penalties and interest. It is important to update this information as soon as possible.
Taxpayers should review the letter carefully and ensure all future ACH credit payments reflect the updated banking information. You may need to update your payment software or contact your financial institution for assistance.
