Frankie

"Interning at the NJ Department of the Treasury has been transformative, which is why I chose to return for two consecutive summers. I feel that I have truly grown professionally through my day-to-day interactions. I have also expanded my knowledge of fiscal policy and have seen the state's initiatives to ensure responsible stewardship of public resources firsthand. In my position, I have also had the opportunity to intertwine my interests in policy and economic strategy.
- Frankie Luna, Columbia University, Class of 2028

Elizabeth

"I genuinely love interning for the NJ Department of the Treasury because I get to see the combination of both my majors, political science and communication, in action. Throughout my internship, I have learned more about state policies, government programs, and the budget process than any class could offer. This experience has given me valuable insight into a career in public service and I encourage any college student who is interested in state government or public service to apply for a fall internship!"
Elizabeth Gorman, Rutgers University, Class of 2028

Antonio

"Working at Treasury has been an amazing experience. Currently, my team and I have been working with multiple divisions and outside big tech companies to upgrade our critical software and our very own DPMC website."
- Antonio Pichardo, Rutgers University, Class of 2028

Justin

"In my internship in the Department of the Treasury, I worked in the Division of Administration on the fiscal and resource team. I learned a lot on multiple different information systems and procurement on this team."
- Justin Mannix, Rider University, Class of 2028

Aimee

"I have had the best weeks training and learning with professionals in the DPP. Having the opportunities to ask questions and enact real-time change within government has been something I look to continue and carry on throughout my career. I had always had help nearby and people I look up to."
- Aimee Lee, Swarthmore College, Class of 2028

Myles

"Throughout my experience with Taxation, I have been met with kindness, in depth working experience, and advice. I have spent three years with taxation and can say with confidence that I would have chosen no other place to be employed with. They were very accommodating with my career interests and gave me a diverse range of work for me to complete."
- Myles Pulley, Montclair State University, Class of 2026

Kira

"Throughout my time with the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services, I have learned and grown so much professionally, as well as learned about myself. I have come to grow in my strengths with both the policy aspect of cybersecurity and the technical side, and I feel a lot more confident in my skills on both ends. I feel reassured that this is a career I would like to continue pursuing in the future and I am so grateful for this experience!"
- Kirya Anumalla, Purdue University, Class of 2029

Reilley

"During my internship at the Office of the State Comptroller I have learned how to market towards the whole state of New Jersey. Coming from past internships it is very different because you must be aware of all the different people in NJ and not one specific client. This internship has opened my eyes to different experiences and more interest in coming back to work for the state."
- Reilly Gannon, Rutgers University, Class of 2028

Shriya

"One of the best work cultures I have ever experienced! I love the people and the passion in the DPMC work environment and would love to return soon full-time!"
- Shriya Yeldandi, Rutgers University, Class of 2027

Maia

"I entered my internship with the NJ Office of Management and Budget (OMB) with much anticipation and equal amounts of nervousness. I have had no experience, no background in anything treasury related besides a few courses. In the most extraordinary way, I was welcomed warmly by my supervisors. Working as the only intern at OMB began as a daunting task but quickly turned into something I look forward to everyday. I have learned so much in the technical processes of payroll, but nothing compares to the relationships and life lessons I have picked up along the way. I highly recommend this program to anyone willing to learn. You will walk away knowing you have gained plenty."
- Maia Wang, Rutgers University, Class of 2029

Anna

"As an intern for the Office of Corrections Ombudsperson in the external affairs department, I have learned so much on the impact public policy work has on our state's prison system. It has been extremely impactful hearing firsthand accounts from my fellow co-workers, and I have shadowed staff members during their visits to Edna Mahan Correctional Facility and Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. I am grateful to have gotten the opportunity to apply my Political Science and Criminal Justice background in such a hands-on way!"
- Anna Mevissen, Rutgers University, Class of 2027

Christian

"I worked with the Division of Investment for the summer, and I have learned so much about different types of alternative investments and have gotten hands on exposure on live deals. I love working and going out with my fellow interns and it's been a super memorable experience."
- Christian Vandergoot, University of Virginia, Class of 2029

Dylan

"Interning with the Treasury has been an amazing opportunity to meet new people and learn from experienced individuals in government. While working with the Division of Taxation, all the staff that I met were extraordinarily kind and caring. Everyone was willing to meet with me and tell me about their experiences, assisting me with any problems throughout the summer. The internship has given me the opportunity to meet new people and expand on my network as I approach graduation."
- Dylan Jefferys, Rutgers University, Class of 2027
