Justice Involved Clients
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) is dedicated to helping justice-impacted individuals succeed in the workforce. Through the Job Opportunities for Building Success (JOBS) initiative, NJDOL provides funding for services to support their reentry into the community and improve employment prospects.
The JOBS program aims to guide participants toward successful outcomes, such as attaining industry-recognized credentials and advancing in their chosen career paths. To ensure accessibility, career coaching and training are offered via digital platforms. Additionally, participants gain practical work experience through internship placements, which can lead to employment opportunities. The initiative also emphasizes work-based learning by partnering with employers to increase opportunities for unsubsidized employment and improve retention rates, ultimately supporting participants in securing stable and rewarding careers.
Justice-impacted individuals face significant and unique employment barriers. Supportive services are a cornerstone of the JOBS program, specifically designed to help justice-impacted individuals overcome the practical barriers that often hinder their employment journey. Examples of supportive services include assistance with childcare and transportation, ensuring that participants can fully engage with the program and achieve successful outcomes. Through this initiative, NJDOL seeks to equip justice-impacted individuals with the skills and support needed for long-term career success.
