Lane Closures
The New Jersey
Department of Transportation
(NJDOT) is extremely aware
to the critical role the
Route 72 Bridge plays in
the mobility of Long Beach
Island (LBI) residents and
tourists, the economy of
LBI's communities, Ocean
County and the State. NJDOT
has made every effort to
plan construction activities
that will minimize the impact
on access to and from LBI.
Based on traffic
data gathered over past
years, the NJDOT has developed
an anticipated schedule
of various weekday and weekend
limits to lane closures
on the Route 72 Bridge for
different periods throughout
the year. NJDOT's contractor
will only be permitted to
close
one lane in each direction
at any given time, and will
be required to comply with
the following:
