New Jersey School-Based Health ServicesSpecial Education Medicaid Initiative (SEMI) and Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) are school-based federal Medicaid Title XIX reimbursement programs. The purpose of SEMI and MAC is to recover a portion of costs for certain Medicaid covered services or activities provided to Medicaid-eligible students enrolled in participating New Jersey local education agencies. The New Jersey Department of the Treasury serves as the contract manager in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services and the New Jersey Department of Education. In January 2005, the State of New Jersey began contracting with Public Consulting Group (PCG) for claiming assistance for the two programs.
