TP-202
Question 1: The solicitation document states that One (1) Selection will be made, however the description id for a batch Solicitation. please clarify.
Answer 1: This is a Batch Solicitation, which means the Department is selecting one firm for both projects.
Question 2: The RFP title includes the term “Batch Selection” which typically means multiple firm selections. However, the RFP also indicates that only one selection will be made. Please clarify.
Answer 2: See answer #1. Additionally, Group Solicitations and Multi-Solicitations select multiple firms for multiple projects.
Question 3: The requirement for Discipline Code T-7, Transportation Planning, does not seem warranted for this project as the stated project purpose is to determine feasible solutions for rehabilitating or replacing the two structures.
We are, therefore, requesting that the requirement for Discipline Code T-7 be deleted.
Answer 3: T-7 Transportation Planning is no longer a criteria for TP-202.
Question 4: Will the submission date be extended, especially since the list of prequalified consultants was expanded about one week after the initial posting date of 08/22/18?
Answer 4: The submission date will not be extended.
Question 5: Could you include a site plan or visual to clarify the actual limits of the proposed rehabilitation/replacement of Spans 1 thru 3 of the Route 139 bridge. It is not clear when comparing the description of the existing bridge on page 6 of the Solicitation to a view of the existing bridge. Aren't Spans 1 thru 3 part of the Route 139 Viaduct which has been under rehabilitation for some time now.
Answer 5: Under Contract #2 of Rt.130 these structures has been under rehabilitation. Due to the poor condition of the structure, the Structural Evaluation Unit recommends full bridge replacement.
Question 6: The RFP under Section 11 Critical Path Model, it indicates that a detailed schedule for preliminary engineering and milestones for final design are required. Is it supposed to be a detailed schedule for concept development and milestones for preliminary engineering?
Answer 6: Under Section 11: Yes, we need a detailed schedule for Concept Development and milestones for Preliminary Engineering and Final Design.
